STP calculator: move a lump sum into equity gradually.

With an STP, a lump sum sits in a lower-risk fund and a fixed amount moves into an equity fund every month, spreading out the entry. See how both parts grow.

How it is calculated

Each month the source fund grows at its return, then the transfer amount moves to the equity fund, which grows at its own return. Transfers stop when the source fund runs out. Each transfer is a redemption, so capital-gains tax may apply.

Common questions

When is an STP useful?
When you have a lump sum to invest in equity but want to avoid putting it all in at a market high.
How long should an STP run?
Often 6 to 12 months for equity, but it depends on the amount and your comfort with risk.
Is an STP taxed?
Each transfer redeems units from the source fund, so gains on those units are taxed as per that fund's rules.
