Retirement calculator: how much will you need?
Enter your age, retirement age and today's monthly expenses. The calculator estimates the corpus you would need, adjusted for inflation, and the monthly investment to build it.
Assumes the corpus earns 7% a year after retirement and must last until age 85, with expenses rising with inflation.
Plan my retirementHow it is calculated
Your expenses are raised for inflation up to retirement. The corpus is the amount that, earning an assumed return after retirement, can pay those inflation-rising expenses until a set age (85 here). The SIP needed to build that corpus is then worked out at your assumed pre-retirement return.
Small changes matter: retiring a few years later, or starting the SIP earlier, can reduce the monthly amount sharply.
