How it is calculated

Affordable EMI = income × share allowed for EMIs − existing EMIs. The loan amount is what that EMI repays over the tenure at the given rate. Lenders also consider your credit score, age, job stability and the property's value (they usually fund up to 75–90% of it).

Common questions

What is FOIR?
Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio: the share of your income going to EMIs. Many lenders cap it around 40–60%.
How can I improve eligibility?
A co-applicant, a longer tenure, paying off small loans and a good credit score all help.
Should I borrow the maximum?
Not necessarily. Leave room for savings, insurance and emergencies.
